I was born and raised in the United States in a Korean American family on the West coast. After college I had the opportunity to live and work in Hong Kong during the time of the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China. It was an intense and extremely mixed cultural adventure that I was able to experience during those years at the beginning of my career. My next stop was New York (truly the greatest city in the world) where I continued to work as a fashion designer but then decided to specialize in accessories. Living in this incredible city showed me what true diversity really meant. When I moved to Recanati, Italy where I have lived and worked for the past 16 years, I finally began to feel like I could see the world of products and fashion from an international perspective mixing up my American, Asian, and European experiences.
I feel extremely lucky and blessed to be able to work and live in the small medieval town of Recanati. Life in Italy is full of history, culture, music, good food and thousands of years of art, beauty and style. When I am not working and travelling, I am enjoying the slow life here with my husband and two children in Recanati which allows me to think about, reflect on, and appreciate the quality of life through the everyday objects and traditions that surround us. Hopefully recognizing and understanding these values helps me to be a better designer and more importantly a better person every day.
